Happy Days are definitely over I guess - I've had a pretty bad week. First of all I think I got my initial outbreak
this late! I broke out in a few spots on my forehead and around my mouth this week. I'm thinking the spots around my mouth
could have been caused by the Blistex I keep smearing all around the mouth every 2 minutes...but who knows could be the pills.
To make matters worse the soreness in my back I mentioned in last weeks journal continued and still persists - not really
bad at all but noticeable when I lie down which seems odd to me (you would figure it would hurt when I walked also since my
back would be in the same straight position...) Anyways I mentioned this to my mom who said it would be a good idea to tell
the Derm since I had an appointment this week (yesterday) I didn't really want to tell him because I don't want anything to
make him think I shouldn't be on Accutane! Well I get to the Derm and he tells me I'm doing alot better and he (like
always) sprays my face with the Nitrogen stuff and says I don't need cortisone shots since I don't have anymore cysts!! Then
he asks me if I've experienced and side effects and I decide maybe I should mention the back soreness. Well he instantly tells
me he has to lower my dosage! I can't even explain how mad I was. So now I'm on 50mgs instead of 60mg not much of a difference
but enough to maybe have to keep on longer. He also told me to keep applying the Cleocin T gel he gave me 2 months ago. Well
I thought I wasn't supposed to apply anything to my face while on Accutane so I had stopped -thinking it was a given to stop
one treatment when I started another. Other side effects include itching. It's the worst feeling in the world!!!!
But it happens since my skin is so dry and I have a couple of patches of red rash type spots on my arms, which just shows
that I havent been moisturizing like I should. So now I moisturize all over twice a day. Other then that things
are the same. The Vitamin E has really made the red scars disappear so now I only have a few to work with which I hope will
fade soon! I also heard Vitamin K is good for this so I will be eating lots of food that contains it. Have a lab
work due in two weeks when I see the Derm again. These lab tests have made me really watch my diet causing me to lose weight,
which is great. Obviously, I try not to eat alot of foods high in cholesterol (which are usually greasy fat foods anyways)
and I don't drink (can change the liver results) and we all know how fattening beer is!! Thats all for now :)
