Hey everyone this week has been pretty good! At this moment I have 2 tiny pimples, which are actually going away,
and unfortunately one cyst and one smaller pimple on my neck. The neck area seems to be the biggest problem for me lately,
which is really annoying because the neck area is the hardest area to apply make-up and make it look somewhat natural.
Anyways, I have a Derm appointment on Tuesday and I know if he sees my cyst he's going to break out the needle and try
to give me a cortisone shot, which by now you should know I absolutely hate!! I read that cortisone cream will work well on
cysts by spot treating (as long as you don't use it too long on one spot because it can hurt your skin) So I went out and
bought some at a local drug store and have been applying it for a few days. It seems to be getting smaller and I'm hoping
it will be gone by Tuesday - if not it's on with the dreaded shot, but at least that will insure it to be gone in only a day,
which is great! Other then that I just have the patches of red marks still! I have to admit that alot have disappeared
since my initial days of starting Accutane and the Vitamin E. I assume that alot of it has to do with the fact that since
I'm not breaking out anymore the red marks have a better chance of healing and I hope the Vitamin E is also working.
Yesterday I was at the drug store however and ran across a few products I want to mention. First I found some Vitamin
E cream and opened it (I know that's illegal) but I wanted to see if it was greasy and it really wasn't! But when I put it
back on the shelf I saw another product right next to it. It is called Vita-K for Blotchy Skin. The front says,
"Helps fade away blotchy uneven skin tones, discoloration and acne marks." Then it has a picture of red marks fading
into nothing! I NEVER buy a product that I havent first researched or gotten first hand testimonials of it. BUT this product
has a money back guarantee so I couldn't resist. It was $12.00 for a 2 oz supply. What I liked about it is that its Vitamin
K, which is supposed to be very good for reducing red marks, and since I'm taking Vitamin E orally I figured this would compliment
it nicely. I'll be the guinea pig though and let you know if it really works! Maybe impulse buying isn't so bad :)
The only downfall of using this product is that it says to use twice a day. This will mean I will have to stop using the
Cleocin T. I figure since I really haven't been breaking out that much I can afford to stop using that. I'll tell you next
week if that was a bad idea :) Oh and about my back and chest. I haven't talked about them in some time because
I was clear for awhile but I noticed that my chest had two little pimples this week but they are almost gone today and I did
break out a little bit (small bumps) on the small of my back, which is weird because I usually break out on my shoulders.
Other then that I'm doing very well. I toned down my workout routine and am not experiencing anymore back pain except
when I lay down. My hair hasn't fallen out, I haven't been nauseas, no nosebleeds, no depression and no more rashes. I mention
these because these are some of the questions I have received through email. Also, I do wear contacts and my eyes have not
been affected by the dryness. The last couple of days my eyes have been red however due to my allergies and I have simply
taken out my contacts and used eye drops, usually just in the morning before I even put my contacts in. I think (don't quote
me) that I saw an ad about eye drops you can use with contacts though, in case any of you are finding drying to be a problem.
As for my diet, I am staying away from all dairy products since many acne-sufferers acknowledge (including myself)
that dairy contributes to breakouts, and staying away from greasy food for the sake of not raising my cholesterol level, which
my lab results test. Speaking of lab results I went to have those done on Thursday and should have the results
Monday before my Derm appointment on Tuesday, I really hope everything is alright so they don't take me off this treatment!!!
Ohh for those of you reading this but not sure if Accutane is right for you - I have posted a link to a great
Natural Acne website that I think will help you out. Pantothenic Acid and Tea Tree Oil seem to very popular with clearing
people (who do not have severe acne) I was given this to a man who is now trying the B5 (pantothenic acid) after he decided
Accutane wasn't right for him. This just shows Accutane doesn't have to be the last resort (like many people think) in some
cases. Even people on Accutane can get some hints from this site like about spot treating with Tea Tree Oil and
using Aloe Vera. I think its worth taking a look at. Lastly, I want to say thank you for all the emails I have
been receiving! It's so nice to hear other people's stories and to help with any questions you might have. I do however want
to encourage you to visit my message board and post especially by giving other people advice. There are many questions other
Accutane users can answer better then I and give better advice on certain subjects. I am by no means an expert I just give
advice by what I've read and experienced but I'm sure there are many others out there can do just the same if not better!!!
We should do this to support each other though this agonizing disease! P.S. Thanks to those of you who signed
my guest book too!
