Friday Sept. 21, 2001 thru Friday Sept. 28, 2001
Ok I started Accutane on Friday. Sunday morning I woke up and amazingly enough found that many of my bumps were gone replaced
by only red marks. I cannot say whether this is because of the shots the derm put in each pimple on Friday or from the Accutane
- either way I'm very relieved. All week I was excited about how soft my face now felt without all the bumps
on my cheeks. I still have pimples however on my chin, forehead, and lots on neck and chest and back. My daily
regime thus far includes this: MORNING and NIGHT: 1)wash face with Cetaphil moisturizing soap 2)ice face
with ice cubes for about 2-3 minutes(this is supposed be really good for making spot scars disappear) 3)apply Cleocin
T 4)take 20mg(morning) and 40mg(night) of Accutane with breakfast or dinner My face has not gotten very
dry yet but when it does get bad I might stop using the Cleocin T and just use my Cetaphil moisturizing lotion. Also, my
lips are already dry so I've been using Aquaphor (I heard it works better then the other stuff I had) Well today I had
to go back to the Derm for a one week check up. He said I had to get lab work done again for next week! Then he proceeded
to inject my face with shots once again. For those of you who do not know what this is - it is a shot injected into each
of your pimples in order to make them heal faster and not scar. It works great but hurts like hell - I even screamed a few
times! Guess that the price you pay for beauty though huh? Well that's all for my first week I haven't felt
any side effects yet (except for the dry lips) but I'll keep ya posted next week.
