Hey guys, Well I stopped taking the pills for about 4 days now for a number of reasons. First of all my cousin
was in town and I've been going out with her and friends which of course involves drinking so I decided to hold off on the
Accutane to help my liver out. Also, I am thinking about joining the military now but they do not accept people
who are on Accutane or who have been on it within 2 months. This would mean I would have to stop treatment and then wait
2 months which is kind of out of the question the more I think about it now. I've decided to take the military physical anyway
and avoid the question at all costs! Anyways I took my 2 pills today however and am back on track. I'm sure these
missed days will not hurt me though since the Accutane was still in my system. Next news is that I went and got
my eyesight tested yesterday. I wear contacts and have noticed that my vision wasnt as good as it should have been so I went
to get them checked being paranoid that Accutane could have something to do with this. Well don't freak out just yet!!!
I explained my situation to the Derm and she said that yes Accutane could have an effect on vision. Then she took a look at
my corneas and said that they were in fact dry. She explained that Accutane makes your eyes dry (of course) and therefore
there's scraping going on or something making your eye uncomfortable with the contacts in. Okay, okay she explained it A
LOT better but since I know nothing about eyes I'm doing my best here :) Well my eyesight didn't turn out being
much worse and she gave my eye drops to add every 4 hours with my contacts in. They are called Refresh Contacts by Allergan.
She also said any discomfort/vision change that I felt would go back to normal after I was done with the treatment
IF it even had anything to do with the Accutane at all. But at least now I can give you guys a heads up on using
the drops so that you wont experience anything or freak out like I did for no reason. I realized what a cool Derm I have
because he gave me the drops at the beginning but I never used them because they had to be used with my contacts off and I
always had them on... So that was my mayor fright of the week I'm glad everything turned out alright though.
I just wanted to mention that my daily regime has changed dramatically lately! In the morning I take
me pills (10 mg Accutane, 400IU Vit E) wash with Apricot Scrub (I've been doing this since I ran out of my cetaphil bar)
and applying tea tree oil if I have a spot (which I havent lately) Then at night I do the same exact thing except I take a
40mg of Accutane. I've stopped doing the icing thing unless I have a pimple forming to help reduce the inflammation
but otherwise I have kind of found I don't have time for it. My lips really aren't that dry anymore and havn't
been for awhile, I find I can go longer without putting anything on them. Havnt noticed any backpain at all either not even
when I lay down like I used to. Well that's it for now. Best of luck to all of you in the new year. Jenn
