JENN'S ACCUTANE JOURNAL

WEEK 16

Week of Jan. 5 thru Jan. 12, 2002

I'm probably preaching to the choir because most insulting people do not read this far into the journal but I have to get this out anyways. Ever since the boy in Tampa was found to be on Accutane all of a sudden it's my fault for some reason. Wednesday I checked my mail and had over 100 emails and 3 reporters who wanted an emailed statement. I'm here to tell all of you MY experience with Accutane, the bad and the good, so that hopefully I can help people thinking of going on Accutane or share with the people already on it. I'm saddened that many of those emails were actually insulting, negative or links to anti-accutane pages and or articles. I'm almost done with my treatment and shouldn't be blamed because I actually loved it and yes would recommend it but I am by no means a representative of Roche Pharmaceuticals nor do I feel the weight is on my shoulders to defend them (although I did) Anyways my point is for all of you very nice people I might have to take my email off here soon :( I'm going to give it a couple of weeks to see if maybe this is just because of the media but I find it very discouraging. It's very upsetting that people attack even those just trying to help because they have a different opinion.

Ok but on to the real topic! Although it was a very sad week due to the tragic events I am doing very well. 100% clear and my red marks are almost gone! I only have to put a light layer of foundation on now unlike the globs of concealer to cover all the many red marks and bumps - I can finally get ready like a normal person instead of taking hours:)

My hair is so extremely dry though I know I have some major breakage going on. I'm really glad I stopped dying my hair before I started! So now I have a clear face but dry raggedy looking hair lol I just can't win :) I put mayonnaise in my hair and sat for 20 minutes but even after I washed it twice I could smell the mayo - it was pretty gross, but I did get a compliment on it today.

Well email me with any thoughts or topics that I can write about next week :) I realize I'm getting pretty boring now that I'm clear - trust me it's better this way though!
