If your reading this site you must have acne and know the devastation it can cause in one's life. Many people try many different
treatments and live through the very agonizing process before ever finding a solution. Accutane should however, in my opinion,
be used as a last alternative. The known side-effects of Accutane range from dryness(in which most people experience)
to suicide which has been of concern but never actually linked to Accutane. Before taking Accutane I recommend the person
know these side-effects before making this very big decision. This drug has been blamed for many long term and future problems
in ex-Accutane users. I say this because there are many other forms of treatments for many people if they research
(not just talking to your Derm.) For example many people have had great success with the Vitimin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) while
others have become acne free just by changing their diet, such as Wai's diet. Well do not reluctantly take Accutane
because you feel you have to - there are many other avenues other then this. Some people, such as myself, have had years
of acne and tried most, if not all, types of treatments to no avail. I also had severe acne which left me with cysts that
would almost always leave scars no matter what I did. I also knew what could happen to me and was willing and comfortable
to deal with it, but I can understand how many people cannot. So before you get sad about taking Accutane know
that there are other treatments if you do not feel comfortable - but if you do decide to take it I recommend sticking with
it and not getting paranoid about all the anti-Accutane people out there. After all, you should know what the side-effects
are before use so that you won't be surprised by anything while in use! :) Best of luck! Jenn
